CHIROPRACTIC TECHNIQUES

I started off using manual chiropractic techniques, which are sometimes referred to as the ‘popping/ cracking’ techniques which are not good terms to use to describe this technique as the adjustment can be successful regardless if there is an audible sound. I have since studied NeuroImpulse Portocol (NIP) and now practice this gentle style of chiropractic. Along with NIP I also use an Activator tool, drop pieces, myofascial release, and dry needling. Below is a bit more information about the techniques I use.

CHIROPRACTIC TECHNIQUES

nEUROiMPULSE pROTOCOL (nip)

Along with its gentleness (allowing babies and toddlers to benefit from care safely) the uniqueness of the NIP system lies in its ability to direct the chiropractor to exactly the right location to adjust. It does this by its highly sophisticated integration of very precise chiropractic assessment techniques and detailed neurological examination.

A full body system analysis allows the practitioner to identify abnormal sensory input from structures of the body such as joints, muscles and ligaments that compromise the brains ability to co-ordinate normal movement and strength. Once identified, impulse or gentle force is applied to the joint or muscle to restore normal sensory input to the brain and improve neuromuscular control and co-ordination. This is reflected with increased movement and strength that patients can often see and appreciate immediately.

The technique is so precise, the typical NIP practitioner needs only adjust one location per visit to achieve maximum, sustainable clinical outcomes.

The force used to make specific corrections (Restore input) is gentle in nature and applied with a fingers touch. There is no cracking involved (Cavitation of joints) which is often associated with Chiropractic adjustments or manipulations, and corrections are made in a neutral position where patients are comfortable.

nip ALSO allows the assessment and treatment of:

CRANIO SACRAL SYSTEM

TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT (TMJ)/ JAW

EXTREMITIES

DIAPHRAGM AND RIBS

NIP IS Predictable AND reproducible

GREAT FOR ALL AGES (INITIALLY DEVELOPED FOR YOUNG BABIES)

DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling is a technique that involves the insertion of thin needles (acupuncture needles) into specific areas of the body, called trigger points, to relieve pain and improve function. This technique is often used by physical therapists, chiropractors, and other healthcare professionals as a part of their treatment plan for patients with musculoskeletal conditions.

During the dry needling procedure, the practitioner carefully inserts a small needle through the skin and into the muscle tissue or connective tissue surrounding the affected area. The needle is left in place for a short period of time, typically between 10 and 30 minutes, to stimulate the trigger point and promote healing.

The goal of dry needling is to reduce pain and tension in the affected area, improve range of motion and flexibility, and promote the body's natural healing process. It is often used to treat conditions such as chronic pain, muscle spasms, and sports injuries.

Overall, dry needling is a safe and effective technique that can provide significant relief for people experiencing a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. However, it is important to work with a trained and licensed practitioner who can properly assess your individual needs and provide the most appropriate treatment plan for your unique situation.

yoga rehab

This is my own technique where I have incorporated everything I have learnt in the last 2 decades as a Chiropractor, in Yoga, myofascial seminars, movement therapies and body psychotherapy to tailor simple effective exercises for you. I strive to understand your environment and routines and incorporate the exercises into them so that they are easy to do and remember.

Coming soon; an online teaching platform where you can refer to each exercise and go through the movements with a guide of a video.
